Five First Wedding Planning Steps.

Wedding Planning five easy steps

We know wedding planning can be overwhelming, and planning your wedding during a pandemic can be even more stressful.

Luckily, we are here to help. You can start wedding planning from the comfort of your home in these five simple steps.

1. Announce it!

Congratulations on your engagement! No matter how many memes your friends are posting about being single, they want to celebrate your happiness! So share your big news on social media, Zoom, or a classic phone call.

2. Discuss a Few Details.

Sit together, preferably over dinner and drinks, to talk about your wedding party, vision, and agree on a budget.

It’s so important to come together and agree on your wedding plans, even if one of you isn’t worried about the budget or wedding party details.

3. Make a Guest List.

You can do this together or start a list separately and come together to combine them.

Having a guest count will help you select the right venue. For example, if your guest list is about 150 to 200 people, you’ll have to look for something that can accommodate them in one area.

4. Choose Your Top 3.

There are so many fantastic wedding professionals to choose from, and it can be overwhelming googling “Connecticut Wedding DJ” or “Ballroom Venues Near Me.”

To make it easier, choose the top three vendors you’ll want to speak with, or each of you can select two vendors.

Here are a few of the most common wedding professionals: Venue, Photographer, Videographer, DJ, Florist, Cake Baker, Officiant, and Planner.

Bonus Tip: You can set up virtual appointments with most of these Pros.

5. Create a Wedding Website.

Whether you choose The Knot, Wedding Wire, Zola, or another Wedding Website, we find most of our couples create a personalized website to keep guests informed. Often the link is being added to the Save The Dates or Invitations. It’s just one more way your guests can stay informed of any changes.

We’ve worked with many couples, and completing these five steps are guaranteed to make wedding planning smoother.

Discussing your vision and making decisions together from the start will make it easier to stay on track. It will also help you feel confident saying ‘No, thanks’ to all the unsolicited advice you’ll be getting from loved ones. Making these decisions now doesn’t mean you can’t come together and make changes later.

When you’re both ready to venture out, start with visiting the top venues on your list. Because, once you’ve booked the venue, you will have your wedding date, and that will make booking everything else easier.

You’ve’ got this, and we are here to help.
